THE TEAM

Randy Taylor

Randy Talyor, CEO

Randy Taylor concentrates on creating new product and marketing ideas, as well as strategic planning to position the company to fulfill its mission of empowering creators, fostering creativity and refining workflows and processes.

Prior to July 1999 when he launched Stock Media, Randy was Vice President of Liaison Agency, a Getty Images company with $9 million annual sales. Previously, he was Vice President of International Color Stock, Inc. (ICS) and President of International News Service, Inc. (INS), two companies he co-founded in 1987. ICS distributed images, primarily to a foreign network of affiliated stock agents. INS created and distributed Movie Snapshot reviews to 3 million readers online and in print. Before that, Randy was a contract photographer for the Associated Press, L'Agence Sygma (now Corbis-Sygma) and Black Star Publishing. His travels in over 50 countries have given him competency in English, French, Spanish and Portuguese.

Randy is a people person who likes to work with a strong, dedicated team. He commands a combination of creative, technical and management skills. Over the years, he has overseen creative staffs including six film critics at INS and 74 employees at Liaison Agency. As a creator, he understands why photos sell, both in editorial and advertising stock, and has personally created extensive content for licensing. The relationships that he has developed with many stock agents and photographers are nurtured via newsletters and seminars. On the technical side, he has created computerized accounting, image tracking and marketing systems. This broad experience in all aspects of photography provides a strong base for his strategic vision of the industry.
