StockMedia.net
Launches Content Service Platform
NEW
YORK, NY - November 2, 2000 - Stock Media
Corporation announced today at PhotoExpo the launch
of StockMedia.net, a content service platform that
facilitates the licensing of photographs for
commercial business uses. StockMedia.net offers an
online application service to photographers and the
stock photo agencies that represent them that
enables them to host, transact and deliver their
creative works online.
StockMedia.net
offers two plans at launch. One plan permits
copyright holders to host their content in the
platform, setting their own licensing and pricing
parameters, for a flat monthly service fee that is
based on the megabytes stored and quantity of
transactions. The second plan positions
StockMedia.net to represent the licensing of
content for digital markets only, such as the
Internet, Television, CD-ROM and kiosk, for a
percentage of licensing fees. This plan returns all
usage requests for print or hi-res back to the
copyright holder.
A
key feature of StockMedia.net is its ability to
enable creators and their agents to search directly
from their existing web sites, and display only
their own content. In essence, this gives small
agencies and individual creators the substantial
power of a high-end ecommerce database in exchange
for the non-exclusive right to license their
content to digital markets.
CEO
Randy Taylor comments, "This is an extremely
powerful platform that should serve the industry
well. Our task now is to build out the content
contained in our network of web sites to maximize
the value that we add to both suppliers and
clients."
Stock
Media Corporation, based in New York City, empowers
creators and their agents by providing technology
and Internet marketing to license their content,
such as photos, music and video. Stock Media
provides 24/7 ecommerce licensing to businesses,
with an emphasis on digital markets, via its
StockMedia.net network of stock content sites and
via its proprietary Content Service
Platform.
