Keyword
Compiler Shareware Has Major
Upgrade
NEW
YORK, NY - November 11, 2001 - StockMedia.net has
released a significant upgrade, available online at
stockagencies.com, of Keyword Compiler, a
shareware to facilitate the selection of words or
metadata to be associated with photos, video and
music for searching and finding that content in a
database.
The
new user interface substantially improves ease of
use and adds functionality such as the ability to
import thumbnail photos to facilitate the
keywording process.
Keyword
Compiler enables commercial users to select
words from conceptual categories in one of six
languages, then automatically translates the chosen
words into five other languages so that content can
be searched by international users. Languages
supported are English, French, German, Italian,
Spanish and Portuguese.
This
version 1.1 upgrade adds 1,500 new keywords, the
ability to add proper names, the ability to
selectively remove keywords and thesaurisized
words, a find capacity, auto set-up aids and
more.
"The
keywording process is a major obstacle to preparing
content for online searches," says Evan Frohlich,
lead designer for the pro bono project. "Our goal
is to create a global, open source standard that
will expand and evolve with user
participation."
The
Keyword Creator template upgrade v1.1 can be
downloaded for free, in MacIntosh format, from
www.stockagencies.com and from
www.stockshooters.com. A Windows version is
expected shortly. Windows version 1.0 is online
until the upgrade is complete.
Keyword
Creator is created with and powered by
FileMaker Pro 5 for Windows and Mac OS from
FileMaker, Inc., a leading provider to the growing
Web-publishing and workgroup database markets.
FileMaker, Inc. is the database software subsidiary
of Apple Computer, Inc. (NASDAQ: AAPL).
