For agencies and photographers, Stock Media can res-up existing images to current standards, or host and fulfill images on your behalf. This service is offered in various forms. Ask us how we can best fill your needs. Art buyers at Stock Media sites benefit from our unique, proprietary process which enables you to resize images upon download to any size. Just license the "any size" category to enable this function. Upon download, you can then set color/b&w, TIFF or JPG, size in cm, inches or pixels, and compression level. You're in control. Here is an example by which all client requests and fulfillments are handled. In this sample, the source image is an older, 16 MB Photo CD scan (the hardest to improve). The image is standardized and sharpened to 48 MB to 55 MB range, ready for fulfillment. The "resize on the fly" function then resizes this sample image to poster size (a 377 MB file, 31x47 inches at 300 d.p.i.). Imagine, from 16 MB to 377 MB with no noticeable loss in quality! When the original file starts at higher resolution which is common these days, the results are even more spectacular. This
first image to the right shows the small detail that is
enlarged: The image directly below shows the magnified portion for each of the three stages or file sizes (original 16 MB, sharpened 55 MB, and final 377 MB). Note also the remarkable compression ... from 377 MB down to an easy-to-handle 7 MB file. Again, without any noticeable loss of quality. Please
contact us if you have any questions Many thanks to photographer Tom Sayler for this sample image. Click here to see more of Tom's fine photos. Image © Tom Salyer. |
